The Recruitment International Fantasy League Gameweek 8 2017/18 review

Sponsored By Futura Rec2Rec

So which 3 City players or going to be in your team?

With City’s 7-2 demolition of Stoke on Saturday with goals scored by no less than 6 different scorers, managers who don’t have a full complement of City players must be making their transfer plans as we speak.

But who to choose?

Below we analyse the options for you.

Ederson doesn’t even come into contention. Not enough CS’s nor saves for the price. Likewise, Otamendi and Stones might get the odd goal from a set piece, but it’s Walker who’s actually been involved in more City goals than anyone else. However, at £6.5m there are better places to invest your cash.

KdB has a brilliant assist before the assist record but only the final ball counts in the FL and Kev’s a tad dear at £10m. David Silva is simply on fire at the moment and at £8.5m he’s a no brainer.

Sterling or Sane or both? That depends on if Pep choses to go with two strikers or one. If he goes with Aguero and Jesus then either one of Sterling or Sane will be dropped. We don’t think this will happen and Pep will rotate his strikers rather than drop his two wingers who bring so much to the party. However, if he does, Sterling will probably be the one to make way simply because Walker can offer width on the right and in the absence of Mendy, Delph just won’t do that.

So our money is on David Silva, Sterling and Mane, but it is Pep and he does spring surprises!

In our league, the Top 10 are as follows:

Seamus Tunney

Joe Stevens

Jay Egersdorff

Ryan Hughes

Jack Wilcox, Bauhaus Recruitment

Greg Coleshill IQ

Daniel Jones

Ben Holden

David Starr

Manager of the Week

Rob Smith .......

Rob’s won his second MOTW in 5 weeks. Rob’s invested in no less than two Swansea defenders / goalies with would seem to us to be a bit of a risk but hey, they’ve kept 4 clean sheets in 8 so who’s the fool here? We’d have liked to have seen Rob’s face when Lukaku fluffed his shot against Liverpool on Saturday. Relief or disappointment? We think we should be told!

Very well done Rob!

Megan Willey, FuturaRec2Rec......

The person who sends out this newsletter wins an award! It must be thanks for all the effort every week. City fan Megan has her full complement of Blues in her team but can she be a real City fan with Lukaku and Bailly also there?

We think we should be told!

The Best of the Rest

Dean Duignan....

With 62 points in 129th place we find Dean Duignan. Dean had our One to Watch, Tammy Abraham in his team for 13 points which was very fortuitous and it has to be said that without the City players in his team, this ManU fanatic wouldn’t have dome too well at all!

Keep it up Dean!

Taxi for...........

Marcos Alonso……….

Last season the Spanish wing back was on fire, but this season all isn’t well at Chelsea. With just 2 clean sheets in 8, he’s not picking up many clean sheet points and neither has he had a single assist all season. He did bag a couple of goals against the Spuds early on in the season but at £7m, with an ownership of nearly 17% and lots of cheaper alternatives who will score you lots more points, we think you should….

Get him him binned!

One to watch..........

Tammy Abraham ………

The best value striker so far this season is on loan to Swansea from Chelsea. Ian Wright thinks they’ve loaned the wrong one out. The England U21 International banged in 23 goals on loan to Bristol City last season and this season he’s bagged 4 in 8 for Swansea. At £5.7m and just an 8% ownership he could be a…………

No Brainer!

Team of the Week

We’re going to look at India’s Akul Jagtani this week. Akul’s scored a superb 79 points this week and he’s got 585 overall which is pretty impressive.

So, what’s his team?

Hart

Davies

Baines

Cedric

Simpson

Salah

Sterling

Silva

Mkhitaryan

Abraham

Jesus

His subs were

De Gea, Atsu, Kolasinac, Firmino

Not bad eh?

Team names please

The reason we ask for your agency name as part of your team name is because it's the only way we can ensure that we are paying the prizes out to the correct managers and that those managers are genuinely in the recruitment industry.

With the latest hacking of our league from semi-professional FL-ers, its even more important. Please help us manage the league better by doing this.

However, those of you who aren't putting in your team names are missing out on some great publicity for your agency and, as recruiters tend to be competitive creatures, isn't it better to beat you rivals in business AND in the fantasy league?
