RIDI appoints executive board member
The Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) has appointed a new executive board member, Jane Hatton.
RIDI says Hatton is an expert in the disability inclusion space, who established Evenbreak in 2011. The organisation aims to helps talented disabled individuals and employers to find each other, and maintains its status as the only non-profit job portal run by disabled individuals for those with a disability.
Hatton will join the board of existing executive members; Simon Blockley, managing director at Guidant Group; Paul Awcock, head of talent sourcing at Lloyds; Mark Lomas, head of equality at HS2 Limited; Janet Hill, cabinet office programme director; Tom Hadley, director of policy at the REC; Kate Headley, director of consulting at the Clear Company; Melanie Forbes, recruitment and outsourcing leader; and Bridget Wilcox, partner at Eversheds Sutherland.
Hatton said, “I’ve been following the work of RIDI since it started and feel that celebrating and sharing best practice is making such a positive difference. The work of RIDI is vital in ensuring that disabled voices are able to inform and influence policy and practice, and I believe that creating genuine inclusion for disabled people in the workplace largely depends on employers gaining confidence in this area. I’m delighted to be invited onto the executive committee to help continue progress in workplace inclusion.”
Kate Headley, spokesperson for the Recruitment Industry Initiative, added, “We are delighted to welcome Jane to the board of executives. Through her positive attitude and entrepreneurial success at Evenbreak, not only does she bring inspiration and experience, but a quintessential example of what we at RIDI prioritise - breaking down the barriers and building disability confidence into employment and recruitment strategies. With the upcoming March 2018 RIDI awards, our executive team are driving forward innovative ideas to raise awareness and we look forward to Jane sharing her expertise, and being part of this spectacular event.”
