The Recruitment International Fantasy League Gameweek 30 2017/18 review

Sponsored By Futura Rec2Rec

It’s Free Hit Time

Next week we only have 8 teams playing and it is therefore perfect for you to use your Free Hit chip. You should bear in mind that it can also be used for double gameweeks so make sure it’s right for you to use it now.

The "Free Hit" chip replaces last season's "All Out Attack" chip to sit alongside the Wildcard, the Triple Captain and Bench Boost. A Free Hit can be taken once per season and allows for unlimited transfers in a single Gameweek.

It works for one Gameweek only

Managers can replace their entire squad for that Gameweek but their 15-man squad of the Gameweek before returns for the next deadline.

For example, if the Free Hit chip is played leading up to Gameweek 31, once the deadline has passed, you will see the points scored by your new squad via the points tab. Your previous squad will now return and is accessible on the transfers tab.

Like the Wildcard, the Free Hit is used when confirming transfers. It cannot be cancelled once confirmed.

Managers cannot benefit from any price changes gained from their new Free Hit squad. However, price changes applied to their previous line-up will take effect on their return once the chip expires.

While the Free Hit cannot be used to play the market, it is nonetheless a powerful new strategy. It offers an alternative to the Wildcard as a way of temporarily fixing a squad and the chip can also be used to patch up squads when postponed fixtures cause issues.

It seems to us it’s perfect for next week!

In our league, the Top 10 are as follows:

Dave Cattell

Jay Egersdorff

Greg Coleshill IQ

Ben Holden

Jon Pheasant

Gary Mills

Tom Elliott

Daniel Jones

Rob Smith

Richard Turrell

Manager of the Week

Peter Wrigley .......

Wow! How good is Peter Wrigley’s 73 points this week when the average is just 29? Peter had the foresight to captain the magnificently in-form Son for 30 points and also to have Aubameyang, Willian, Otamendi and Lascelles in his side.

What an absolutely brilliant week, Peter !

Page 2 Pacesetter

Stephen Farquhar, HFG......

This is Stephen’s second Page 2 award in the space of just 8 gameweeks. One wonders why he couldn’t do better with the other weeks and join the big guns on Page 1? Whatever, but 72 points is not to be sniffed at in any week never one so parsimonious as the current one.

Keep it going this time Stephen !

The Best of the Rest

Neil Moore (again) ....

With an amazing 60 points this week in an amazing 134th place we find Neil Moore, yet again. Neil won it last week and we commented that we were gobsmacked that he was languishing in such a lowly position.

Well he isn’t now!

Taxi for...........

Hegazi  ………

We called Hagazi out earlier in the season but there are still over a fifth of managers that have him in their team and he’s incredibly the 10th most selected player in the league. Even without stealing taxis, the Baggies are on their way out, have only kept one clean sheet in their last 10 games and have leaked nearly 2 goals a game since the hapless Pardew was appointed. Even at £4.7m he’s not a bargain and we think you should….

Get him binned!

One to watch..........

Serge Aurier ………

The top of the value / Form table at the moment is Spurs defender Serge Aurier who’s scored an incredible 26 points in just three games. With an ownership of 0.6% (yes, you read that right, less than 1%) and a price tag of just £5.9m he could just be a…………

No Brainer!

Team of the Week

This week, we’re going to look at Tunisia’s Fara’s team. Fara is the highest scorer in the world in March and has scored a very impressive 89 points this week.

So, what’s his team?

Aubameyang ( c)

His subs were

De Gea, Smalling, Murray, Salah

Not bad eh?

Team names please

The reason we ask for your agency name as part of your team name is because it's the only way we can ensure that we are paying the prizes out to the correct managers and that those managers are genuinely in the recruitment industry.

With the latest hacking of our league from semi-professional FL-ers, its even more important. Please help us manage the league better by doing this.

However, those of you who aren't putting in your team names are missing out on some great publicity for your agency and, as recruiters tend to be competitive creatures, isn't it better to beat you rivals in business AND in the fantasy league?
