Russell Taylor Group opens Manchester office

Russell Taylor Group has set up a satellite office in Manchester as the city’s building boom continues to open up the jobs market in construction trades.

This latest expansion by the Bromborough-headquartered recruitment company comes only a matter of months after opening an office in Liverpool where, again, building work at the £5 billion Liverpool Waters development site is creating huge new opportunities for jobs and skills development.

The Russell Taylor Group Manchester base is on Trafford Park, one of the largest business parks in Europe.

Gary Jones, the company’s construction trades manager, explained, “Inward investment and the Northern Powerhouse initiative to boost economic growth in the North of England has resulted in a massive uplift in job vacancies in the construction trades and building services sector.

“Earlier this year, Manchester was shown to be one of Europe’s fastest growing cities with city centre apartment building maintaining pre-recession levels of construction for the second year running.

“The building of around 11,000 flats in more than 40 schemes has been reported and approximately 1.5 million sq ft of office floor space is also being developed, again in the city centre.

“Skyscrapers of above 25 storeys have begun to change the face of the city with national and international designers making their mark – and the boom shows no sign of slowing down.”

Jones added that investor confidence, a strong business community and the demand for property, particularly in the residential market, was regarded as being responsible for the current Manchester upturn and the resultant growing need for a whole spectrum of construction trades workers – joiners, bricklayers, plant operators and labourers.

His team at Trafford Park is made up of consultants Ryan Riddell and Joanne King, both with experience of the North West recruitment markets.

Rob Kurton, Russell Taylor Group managing director, commented, “New opportunities are now being opened up for jobs and skills development in the region and I am delighted to say that will become very much a part of these plans, particularly in the construction, facilities management and manufacturing sectors.

“Our Manchester team – and those in Liverpool - are now perfectly placed in the centre of activity in vibrant cities that are entering new phases of major economic growth and where their expertise will put clients and candidates in pole position to take advantage of their remarkable transformation.”
