Cover Teachers support Bedminster lantern parade
The team at Cover Teachers have been getting their crafty fingers out and have been volunteering at the ‘Bedminster lantern parade’ – The Bedminster lantern parade is a community event in South Bristol which involves 7 primary schools and 3 community groups making big colourful lanterns which will be walked through a parade in Bedminster on the 8th December. Madeleine Mann the branch manager at Cover who also lives in Bedminster says ‘This is a great community event and brings all local families and businesses together. We were really keen to be involved this year as a lot of the primary schools we work with will be joining in, and we were keen to give back some of our time back to help support our schools.’
The team at cover will be at Ashton Vale primary on the 21st and 22nd November helping the year 3 pupils build their school lantern. And during half term on Maddie’s day off she will be helping at a family workshop at the United Reform Church hall on West Street.
On the 8th December over 3,000 people will fill the streets of BS3 to watch a truly spectacular procession of around 1500 people and thousands of illuminated lanterns, accompanied by some seriously shimmy inducing musicians. A few of us from the LB group will be replacing our suits for high Vis jackets and stewarding on the day. - We will send more pictures over the coming month.
