One dead following shooting at Washington DC staffing agency

Police are looking for an armed suspect who shot two people at a temporary staffing service in Washington D.C., fatally wounding one of them.

A gunman wearing a mask and gloves walked into Trojan Labor, in the 1700 block of Hamlin Street NE, and shot two people in the office area.

David Anthony Remen, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead. The owner of the business was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police responded before 6 a.m. Both victims were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. A short time later, Remen was pronounced dead. The office was open at the time of the shooting. Witnesses described chaos, with multiple shots fired. Detectives are seeking information on any possible motive.

D.C. Police Chief Peter, Newsham, said, "This does not appear to be a robbery, because it does not appear he tried to take anything.”
