Macildowie appoints chairman
Macildowie has appointed John O’Sullivan as the company’s chairman.
The business has enjoyed strong growth over recent years and is now looking for O’Sullivan to work closely with the existing board and leadership team to continue the company’s innovation and implement its exciting growth strategy.
O’Sullivan spent several years working as a director with some of the largest recruiting firms in the world before founding his own business, Best International Group, which turned over £130m in its second year of operations. For the last ten years, O’Sullivan has worked with a number of businesses in the sector as a non-executive director and strategic advisor, developing a strong reputation as an industry heavyweight.
O’Sullivan said, “I have enjoyed a relationship with the board at Macildowie for over ten years and it has always been a business that I hoped to have more involvement with one day.
“I am highly selective about the companies I work with and the opportunity to join this established and incredibly highly regarded recruitment consultancy was too good to pass up. With 26 years of heritage, the brand is perceived as a real market leader in the sector and I am excited to help the business to reach new levels of performance.
“The recruitment market is evolving and undergoing a huge technological revolution. My experience and network combined with the hugely talented Leadership team at Macildowie, means that we are in a unique position to redefine the way our customers approach not just recruitment, but also their entire talent strategies.”
Macildowie’s managing director, James Taylor, added, “The recruitment industry is dynamic, technology is changing the way our clients and candidates approach both hiring and finding a job and I believe that John’s appointment as chairman puts us at the cutting edge of this innovation. John is joining a business that is absolutely focused on the importance of its people and we are delighted to have him on board as we begin a new chapter in Macildowie’s growth strategy.
“His unique network gives us access to some of the industry’s leading minds and we are looking forward to working with him on a number of major new offerings to help our customers to recruit the best talent available and continue to set Macildowie apart in the sector. As I have said before, we want to be the best recruitment company to work for in The Universe and I believe that John will help us to achieve this.”
O’Sullivan shared, “From my experience working with James and the board at Macildowie, it is clear that this is a business that is completely focused on its people. The recent 23rd place in The Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For, makes Macildowie the best recruitment company to work for in the Midlands and is a perfect example of this people-led approach. I am excited to start working with the wider team.”
