Retinue shortlisted for HSJ Value Award 2019
Retinue Health has been shortlisted as a finalist for this year’s HSJ Value Award for NHS Support Service Initiative of the Year.
Retinue won a place through partnering with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust; where it delivered strategic transformation, savings and productivity improvements through its bank and agency managed service solution. Retinue assisted the Trust in sustainably changing the patterns of its flexible staffing spend, leading to an annual saving of up to 33%.
Managing director, Rachel McKenzie, said, “Taking a committed and innovative approach to building and engaging the flexible workforce at Airedale, over a sustained period that pre-dated the Agency rules, we and the Trust are thrilled the agency transformation project has been recognised by the HSJ.”
Lorna Smithson, head of HR Workforce Resource Service, at Airedale NHS Foundation added, “Retinue have worked alongside us to develop and grow our own bank of doctors that are now engaged directly to work temporary shifts for the Trust. This provides us with a pool of familiar and reliable staff to resolve our temporary staffing needs that are either planned in advance or booked at short notice.”
Against a backdrop of workforce challenges, tighter budgets and increased pressure on the NHS, the HSJ Value Awards recognise and reward efforts to improve patient outcomes and increase efficiencies. This year’s award winners will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester, on Thursday 23rd May.
