RIDI appoints new executive board member from DWF
The Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) has appointed a new executive board member, Ty Jones, from DWF.
Established in 2011, RIDI is a not for profit organisation that works towards removing the barriers that those with disabilities face while looking for employment and whilst in the workforce. This milestone strengthens DWF's longstanding support to RIDI, now as a Gold Partner and as the first legal business to achieve Disability Confidence leadership status.
Ty Jones, director of corporate social responsibility and engagement at DWF, said, “I want to encourage and help businesses to challenge their own assumptions and those of others about the value of inclusion and to champion difference through disability confidence. The purpose of RIDI is to break down the barriers facing disabled people in the workplace and being a catalyst for the small but often significant steps that make recruitment processes more accessible for disabled candidates.
“Fundamentally, no business should be managing diversity as a compliance requirement. Greater transparency and ownership of this agenda requires bold and innovative leadership.’’
Kate Headley, spokesperson for RIDI, added, “I’m delighted to welcome DWF on board as a gold member of RIDI. It’s extremely encouraging to see such a large and influential organisation get fully behind helping to break down the barriers that disabled people face. The firm’s previous track record and level of accomplishment in this area is impressive, and by working together, I truly believe that we can achieve real and sustainable change in the future.’’
DWF is a global legal business with approximately 3,100 people across 27 key commercial centres in the UK and internationally.
