Hays

Hays has renewed its global partnership with Manchester City Football Club.

Hays became the official recruitment partner of Manchester City in 2013 and renewed the agreement for the first time in 2016. During the past six years, Hays has extended the relationship with City Football Group to become the official recruitment partner of New York City FC in 2015, as well as Manchester City Women in 2017 and most recently with Japanese side, Yokohama F. Marinos.

Hays has helped the Club to build a winning team off the pitch, including recruiting roles across City's legal, finance, HR, commercial, marketing and communications teams across their offices in Manchester, London, New York and Singapore.

Throughout its time as official recruitment partner, Hays and Manchester City have explored the parallels between the world of work and elite sport, with both the men's and the women's teams. This collaboration has formed a rich territory for the partnership, with a strong focus on leadership, development, scouting and understanding the ingredients of building a high-performance team.

In January, Hays launched a series of videos as part of its "Match Your Ambition" campaign, with Manchester City players, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker, Keira Walsh, Nikita Parris and Jen Beattie. The interviews explored the personal attributes and skills required to forge a successful career in top-flight football and were designed to encourage professionals to develop their own career, using inspirational stories and messaging from the Manchester City players.

Hays will work together with City to curate digital and social content over the next four years, continuing to integrate and fully utilise the partnerships to reach audiences all over the world. The renewal will be further boosted by the new naming rights which make Hays an Official Tour Sponsor for the Club's overseas tours and provide further access to exciting experiences for Hays' staff across the globe.

Sholto Douglas-Home, Hays chief marketing officer, said, "We are delighted to be continuing as the Official Recruitment Partner of Manchester City's men's team for a third term and the women's team for a second term. We established our partnership in 2013, based on a mutual ambition to attract skilled, expert professionals to build high performing teams.

"Since then, Hays has played a key role in sourcing valued members of City Football Group's professional staff to help drive the Club's success off the pitch. We have also explored the synergies between the world of work and elite sport, assessing how the dynamics that drive players to succeed can be applied to everyday careers.

"We are also proud to be partnering with other teams in City Football Group, including New York City FC and Yokohama F. Marinos. It is exciting to see how our two organisations have grown together during this time, and we aim to be innovative and ambitious in how we take our partnership to the next level."

Damian Willoughby, City Football Group senior vice president of partnerships, added, "For a football club to be successful it needs to have the right people in every position – from the players on the pitch to the professional staff who underpin the operation of the club. Throughout our partnership, Hays has been fundamental in helping Manchester City find great people to help our organisation grow and support our teams' achievements.

"Our partnership with Hays continues to strengthen and we are proud that this has grown beyond our men's team to incorporate our women's team, as well as other clubs from the Group. We are delighted to extend our relationship into this next chapter that will see us mark ten years of this exciting partnership."

Morson Group

An exclusive resourcing partnership between ADB SAFEGATE Airport Systems and the Morson Group has reached greater heights after the newly-acquired tech firm signed a new deal with its Manchester recruitment partner.

ADB SAFEGATE Airport Systems was successfully acquired by ADB SAFEGATE in February 2019 and has since tasked the Morson Group with its complete recruitment remit. This includes sourcing an initial 15 newly-created vacancies that range from entry-level software developers through to director roles.

Morson Group is responsible for attracting the best talent that fit the airport IT business’ unique culture, mirror its core values and match its ambitions of delivering digital technologies at the forefront of global aviation innovation and airport performance.

Laura Bowley, head of HR for ADB SAFEGATE Airport Systems, explained, “We’ve worked with Morson since 2017 and have always been impressed with their tenacity and drive to deliver the candidates we need, no matter how specialist the role or rare the required skillset, so selecting them as our dedicated recruitment partner was an easy decision.

“Their specialist recruiters have invested the time to truly understand our brand and have been a key driver in helping us to cut through the noise and bring our employer value proposition to life. This deep understanding of what makes those in our industry tick has enabled us to champion our story and build credibility in our marketplace, in order to attract the talent we need.

“We’ve big ambitions and the right entrepreneurial mind-set, which combined with the backing from our global group and a culture that’s rooted in empowerment, collaboration, innovation, learning and development, will enable us to recruit the right people who can help us to soar in delivering exceptional digital transformation in global airport travel.”

Sam Menelaou, executive manager at Morson Group, added, “From day one we focused on getting under the skin of this culture of success to really understand the company’s values and its attributes in becoming a top employer. ADB SAFEGATE Airport Systems is exceptionally well-placed to attract high calibre talent in a highly competitive market, with their acquisition offering staff the security and comfort of being part of a larger global group, whilst providing the same talent management strategies and healthy work-life balance that we see in small digital disrupters. They even implement the same ‘Free Thinking Fridays’ as Google, which gives staff the freedom to develop and work on whatever projects they like once a week.

“Our Group IT and Digital division has recorded substantial growth over the last few years, both organically and through acquisitions such as The Bridge IT, as we continue to capitalise on new, emerging marketplaces and strengthen our position as the go-to recruitment partner of choice. Our proven abilities in IT and aviation meant that we could hit the ground running with this brief and we look forward to working together as a truly collaborative recruitment partner.”

Adecco Group UK&I

The Adecco Group UK&I has been awarded a £45m contract by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to provide recruitment and HR services for the 2021 Census.

Providing an integrated service Adecco Corporate, part of the Adecco Group UK&I, will play a pivotal role in the staffing of the 2019 Census Rehearsal and Census Coverage Survey, the 2020 Address Check, 2021 Census, and the 2021 Census Coverage Survey.

The agreement includes a wide range of Adecco Corporate’s services for the coming census including the delivery of recruitment, payroll, HR, training and support to the Census Field Force and management teams.

Niki Turner-Harding, head of Adecco Corporate UK&I, commented, “The census is a fundamental tool in the government’s decision-making process – a key part of planning for the future of the nation. We are therefore very excited to be working with the ONS to support them with their HR-needs during this significant period. There are many things that need to happen behind the scenes to ensure the national count of all people and households runs smoothly, and we’re proud to have been chosen to take care of the recruitment and HR services for those that ultimately make the census a possibility.”

Taking place since 1801, the census requires every household in England and Wales to answer questions about the home and people within it. This historic count of all people and households is then used for the production of a source of consistent and comparable information about the population - as well as underpinning the allocation of government spending each year.

The Office for National Statistics is the UK’s largest independent producer of official statistics. It is responsible for collecting and publishing statistics related to the economy, population and society at national, regional and local levels.

This is no different for the public sector. We’ll work individually with each area of Government to work out the best options for them, and then use our vast candidate reach to provide them with what they need.”

Director, Sean Bowman, added,  “I’ve been privileged to have seen the growth of the Scottish tech market over the last decade and it really is booming. What we’re seeing now is technology being recognised as a key area of public sector investment.  This creates incredible opportunities for talented individuals, who want to play a part in some genuinely transformative projects.
