86% expect to use remote onboarding regularly post-COVID-19

McGregor Boyall’s May 2020 survey has found that 86% of respondent expect to use remote and virtual onboarding ‘frequently’ or ‘sometimes’ as part of the selection process in the future.


This compares to just 45% of respondents who thought they would before lockdown began. 63% of respondents intend to use remote interviewing exclusively going forwards either ‘frequently’ or ‘sometimes’, compared to just 14% who responded with those prior to lockdown. Before lockdown, 58% never used remote working, but the number who will never use remote working going forwards is just 12%.


Before lockdown, just 24% of respondents conducted their entire onboarding process virtually either ‘frequently’ or ‘sometimes’, post-lockdown, this percentage has risen to 53%. The number of people who will never conduct onboarding remotely has fallen from 59% to 12%.
