Sense has a proven record of offering high quality, pioneering services. We have a number of services in Barnet, Hertfordshire & Greater London and are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our established teams in the area. We’ll be holding a recruitment open day at TouchBase South East in Barnet on Saturday 8th July from approximately 10:00 – 16:00. It will be a really interactive, accessible day where you can find out more about Sense and the opportunities we have available in Barnet and the surrounding areas. Where possible we’ll carry out group assessments and interviews during the day so we can let you know the outcome as soon as possible. To register your interest please complete the short ‘application form’ at the base of this page – don’t worry we’ll be inviting everyone along to the day (until all spaces have been filled) we just need to gather some information from you. Once the form has been submitted we’ll be in touch as soon as we’re able to book you in and provide you with more details. Please don't arrive on the 8th July without filling in the form and reviewing the subsequent information we send - there will be various sessions and it's really important we limit the number for each to ensure everyone has their chance to shine. We’ve added a brief description of the opportunities available below. What roles are available? Due to the growth of our services in this area we have a number of opportunities available, including: Support Workers - We have Support Worker roles available throughout the area including at TouchBase South East in Barnet, our residential service in Barnet and in community settings within Hertfordshire & Greater London. The rate of pay for this role is up to £18,681 pro rata per annum; £9.58 per hour (inclusive of London allowance). Team Leaders – We’re looking to recruit one permanent and one fixed term Team Leader at TouchBase South East. As a Team Leader you will supervise team members as well as supporting people with a range of hearing and / or sight difficulties that may also have complex needs and learning disabilities. The rate of pay for this role is up to £21,845 pro rata per annum; £11.20 per hour (inclusive of London allowance). Communicator Guides (Senior Support Workers) – we have opportunities in Barnet, Hertfordshire and Greater London. Communicator Guides offer support to people who have developed sight and hearing impairments, often as they get older; you will support the individual to do the things they want to do - not to do things for them. You’ll be there to act as the eyes and ears of the individual – to make sure that communication is clear and that they are able to move around safely. The rate of pay for this role is up to £20,755 pro rata per annum; £10.65 per hour (inclusive of London allowance). Intervenors (Senior Support Workers) - we have opportunities in Barnet, Hertfordshire and Greater London. An Intervenor provides one-to-one support to a child or adult who has been born with sight and hearing impairments – known as congenital deafblindness. The day-to-day role of an Intervenor varies dependant on the needs of the individual, the nature of the sensory impairment and the ways they wish to communicate. The rate of pay for this role is up to £20,755 pro rata per annum; £10.65 per hour (inclusive of London allowance).
