Job Description

Exciting permanent opportunity based in Aberdeen. Crewing/Recruitment Officer to work for a leading maritime organisation. Crewing Responsibilities Manage and arrange crew changes. Provide crew and ships with crew change travel requirements incorporating all aspects of checking certification, training, etc. Comply with applicable environmental, quality, health and safety rules, procedures, laws and accepted safe work practices. Arranging crew travel for on and off signing crew and management of crew travel costs. Ensure all crew attend necessary courses and have relevant certificates according to the Training Matrix. Liaise with external training providers and flag states to ensure industry specific certification is maintained and kept up to date. Ensure that accurate and timely information is passed to relevant departments, agents, agencies and crew members. Address and solve crewing problems for assigned vessels. Booking of medicals: ENG1s, fit to return to work medicals, consultations, etc. Participate in duty rotation. Recruitment Responsibilities To source and allocate both crew members from within the internal marine pool as well as external manning agencies to vessels within the fleet within a timely and effective manner. Responsible for planning sea staff, identifying requirements and managing recruitment projects with the Crewing Manager and Recruitment Crewing Supervisor. Responsible for assessing, validating, logging, acknowledging and maintaining a data base of CVs. Evaluates seafarers qualifications, documents, English language proficiency and arranges equivalent certification both for new entrants and existing sea staff. Liaise with external sources and agencies for supply of recruits to maintain and improve the manning pool for the management Company. Maintain control of agency contracts and monitor their costs. Proactive interaction with management team colleagues to arrange interview, selection, induction, PPE and appointment of new entrants to vessels. Liaise with Training Officer and Crewing Officers regarding training requirements. Provide statistical data as required by the Crewing Manager. Visit vessels. Function requirements Education at higher vocational level. Previous maritime experience. Excellent computer skills. Ability to work well within a team and work to deadlines.
