Milton Keynes College deliver an exciting and varied curriculum in 28 of Her Majesty's Prisons and Young Offenders Institutes. We also have a successful Employment Academy model which works with employers and stakeholders to enhance our learners' chances of re-entering society successfully, to find employment upon release and to live fulfilling lives. The curriculum we offer is designed taking into account both the needs of the learner, external stakeholders and the local employment needs. We are proud of supporting our learners' successfully through education and 'Through the Gate'. To be the regional Recruitment Resourcer for the prisons in the Midlands region for the Employment Academies by working with a range of partners to produce successful progression into work for offenders. This will entail identifying, attracting and short listing candidates for employers to fulfil the requirements of the MKC business brief. You will identify new business opportunities and provide general administrative support to the recruitment function. Partners will include College staff, Prison staff, employers and offender learners. As part of the Employment Academies you will have the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of offenders, & support the vision and mission of the college. A key part of the role will be to work with regional and national employers to gain their commitment to the Employment Academies and liaise with them to place offender learners into work. The role will be part of the existing Regional OLASS team. As a successful candidate you will have: * A minimum of a NVQ level 3 qualification, which could be in Training and Mentoring, Recruitment (CertRP), A&G * Youth Work or a similar discipline. * Have proven, relevant experience in business development in local and national companies * Proven experience of networking and developing effective relationships with job seekers and employers. * Have the ability to work with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds * Experience of working positively with offenders or people with complex needs in an employability * and case management context * Knowledge of current and local, regional and national labour markets * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines * Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships * With colleagues and learners and outside organisations. * Strong project management skills * Be well organised, have good administrative skills and manage work load effectively * A Valid UK Driving License & a willingness to travel regionally * All positions will require you to undertake a DBS check & HMPS and G4S security clearance. * Be willing to undertake training and development as required within the role Locations: Based in Milton Keynes providing support to either the North or the South regions Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year Salary: £22,388 - £28,000 per annum Closing Date: 17th June 2016 More about the rewards As well as having 28 flexible days holiday per year you will also get 3 additional days to be taken over Christmas and of course all of the bank holidays.
