Marketing, Recruitment, Fostering, Social Care This is an exciting role that is part of our drive to recruit more foster carers and offers the opportunity to promote and drive initiatives in respect of marketing and recruitment. This is a permanent part time position, 25 hours per week. You be involved in further developing, implementing, inform and monitor a clear and robust marketing and recruitment strategy and contribute to the Local Authorities target of increasing the number of approved Foster Carers within Southend On Sea Borough Council.To liaise with all key internal and external agencies including fostering agencies, advertising and communications agencies, media outlets, other local authority fostering teams, local business sector employers, local community organisations, social work teams, the council press office and internal and external communications teams. You will need to liaise with other parties to devise an attractive, needs led and inclusive Foster Carer recruitment strategy. Generate positive local media coverage of Foster Carers in Southend Borough Council and neighbouring authorities and identify public relations opportunities which could benefit and promote Southend Borough Council's Fostering Service. Play a key and active role in the widest possible range of public relations and promotional activities including advertising programmes and campaigns (in line with both local and national themes) and ensure any related web pages/social media are accurate and up to date. To be successful in this position, you need to have a degree or equivalent in Marketing. Experience in this field is desirable. You will be enthusiastic and able to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative. You must have experience of working within a social care setting, with knowledge of the issues affecting Looked After Children and the challenges facing them within the social care systems and have awareness of the expectations and challenges that Foster Carers face. Have knowledge of relevant Fostering legislation and regulations which underpin Fostering agencies functioning and service provision and have knowledge of the approval/assessment process in relation to Foster Carers and other forms of care arrangements - Kinship, Special Guardianship.
