To assist the Family Placement Team in providing safe foster placements by taking a lead role in recruiting foster families. 2. To publicise fostering on behalf of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to recruit a wide range of foster carers to meet the needs of looked after children and young people. 3. To contribute to retention of foster carers by providing a range of social events and practical support for foster carers. Scope of the job 1. To plan and co-ordinate a range of recruitment initiatives to promote our service, including drawing up a recruitment strategy and action plan. 2. To proactively liaise with, and establish effective links with, local media outlets and publicity groups. 3. To research and utilise existing recruitment opportunities in the local community and to create new opportunities, using a variety of marketing tools, resources and techniques, including social media, to target campaigns effectively and fulfil the identified recruitment targets. 4. To organise and deliver presentations, including public speaking to community groups and via the appropriate media, to promote local awareness of the need for more foster carers. 5. To take the lead within the Family Placement Team in the design, writing and production of literature relating to fostering. 6. To produce dynamic recruitment publicity and promotional materials, and arrange the distribution of publicity material at appropriate outlets and venues, to ensure these are highly visible in the local area. 7. To collect, analyse, evaluate and report on information on the effectiveness of different recruitment initiatives, including cost effectiveness, in order to inform future recruitment activities. 8. To build rapport with potential foster carers, providing quality information, advice and guidance on the assessment and approval process. 9. To help facilitate foster carer training and support groups. 10. To contribute to retention of foster carers by providing a range of social events and practical support for foster carers, including facilitating attendance at events by arranging transport or childcare. 11. To perform any tasks/duties as reasonably requested by the Team Manager/Assistant Team Manager
