Job Description

The Human Resources department at Simmons & Simmons is currently recruiting for a Graduate Recruitment Advisor. The main purpose of this role is to lead on the attraction and recruitment of the highest calibre trainee lawyers and vacation interns for the London and Bristol offices and to manage the delivery of recruitment tasks including marketing and events, selection and candidate experience, running vacation schemes and reporting. The ideal candidate would have good knowledge of the graduate recruitment market and experience of managing internships and events as well as marketing and attraction. We are looking for someone who is highly organised and efficient, innovative and able to develop new ideas and who can build relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Main duties and responsibilities: - Responsible for the application and selection process for trainee lawyers and vacation interns. Organise and run assessment days with the support of the GR Administrator, Assistant and Manager where necessary, running feedback sessions and making hiring decisions. Monitor the recruitment process at all stages to ensure candidates are moved through in a timely manner and assessment centres planned in advance. Ensure an excellent candidate experience. - Plan and deliver the university strategy. Identify opportunities for campus activities including sponsorship and brand ambassador programme. Building and maintaining relationships with key contacts and external organisations. - Organise and co-ordinate all on campus events throughout the year, ensuring seamless delivery and excellent candidate experience, tracking costs and ensuring we keep within budget. Attend all events internally and externally when required, representing the firm in a professional and credible way. - Build relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure engagement in the graduate attraction and assessment process. - Plan, organise and deliver the firm`s vacation schemes, open days and workshops including timetables, internal and external staff, events and logistical arrangements. Track costs and ensure we remain within budget. Review after every scheme to identify improvements. - Ensure our external online and print publications and recruitment website is kept up to date and maintain publicity at universities and careers services. Lead on updating our annual marketing campaign materials. - Identify advertising opportunities and, in liaison with the GR&D Manager, manage the advertising process, negotiating rates and ensuring necessary deadlines are met. Evaluate effectiveness of paid media with support from GR&D Manager. - Liaise with external diversity organisations to create a programme of workshops and events aligned to our recruitment goals to ensure the attraction of the highest calibre, diverse candidates. - Ensure our social media channels are regularly updates and lead on producing content for these. - Ensure pre employment checks of future trainees are carried out timely and effectively and smooth handover of future trainees to Graduate Development team. - Provide input and support to the Graduate Recruitment & Development Manager with reviews of the selection process, media and marketing materials, vacation schemes and end of campaign review. Suggest improvements to existing processes. Person specification Education / qualifications / experience: - Minimum of 18 months Graduate Recruitment experience. Knowledge and technical skills: - Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. - Willingness to use software packages that are unfamiliar. - Comfortable monitoring budgets. - Familiarity with the Graduate Recruitment end to end process.
