Job Description

We are looking for a full time experienced Recruitment and Training Manager who is passionate about delivering high quality care and will support our mission statement of “providing first class care”. The successful candidate will be based in Leighton Buzzard and be responsible for recruitment and training across our two branches in Leighton Buzzard and Oxford. The business of the two branches comprises domiciliary care, Extra Care Housing, learning disabilities, and in Oxford, nursing care. The successful candidate will be involved with all areas except nursing, and will work with the Company to achieve a stable, effective, highly trained and competent workforce of carers providing first class care to our clients. The ideal candidate will have the following: • Experience in the home care industry with a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in health and social care • Hold a relevant training qualification, ideally a Level 4 CET (CTTLS) or above • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the home care industry • The knowledge and ability to deliver induction training and refresher training, including moving and handling and medication training, and ideally the ability to deliver training in some or all of the following areas: LD, Dementia, End of Life • A good knowledge and understanding of recruitment methods, including via social media • The ability to organise own work and carry out duties without direct supervision • The ability to meet deadlines, and cope under pressure • Good communication and administrative skills, and computer literacy • Be a team player • Be flexible and reliable • Be passionate about achieving the Company’s goals • Excellent people management skills • A clean driving licence Main duties of the successful candidate will include the following: • To manage the recruitment of new care workers, including being proactive in seeking out new ways to recruit, working with external agencies used by the Company in recruitment, and conducting interviews • To plan and deliver a comprehensive induction for new care workers to include the Care Certificate standards, mandatory training areas, the Company’s policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England, and conduct competency assessments • To ensure new carers satisfactorily achieve all areas required for the Company to issue the Care Certificate including conducting Care Certificate observations • To plan, coordinate and deliver ongoing training programmes for staff, to include refresher training, identifying (working in conjunction with the Branch Managers) and addressing specific training needs, production of training materials, and use of a blend of different methods of training, so as to ensure that the Company meets CQC requirements, Local Authority requirements and current legislation • To source and manage QCFs, short awards, etc, make claims for WDF funding, and keep the NMDS up to date • To update the Company’s staff records on Dropbox and PeoplePlanner • To provide reports and analyses as required, and participate in evaluation of the Company’s training and development needs against agreed organisational objectives • To keep his/her own training and development up to date, and be willing to undertake training in new areas • Assisting with the carrying out of quality assurance checks such as spot checks and after care checks • To be part of the On call rota, as required by the Company In return we can offer: • Competitive salary of between £25k to £35k depending on experience • Auto-enrolment in the Company pension scheme • 28 days’ holiday per year (including Bank Holidays) • The opportunity to progress – we are a growing company with ambitions • The opportunity to be part of a talented, experienced, friendly and supportive team Please apply online for this Recruitment and Training Manager role with your CV and covering letter.
