Job Description

You will be helping ex-offenders return to employment.  Coaching and mentoring them day to day.  A recruiter looking for a change would be a great fit.  It’s a great chance to move into the charity sector.  And join one of the largest UK charities and move your recruitment career into a different direction. You will be working across 2 probation Trusts in Ilford and Romford.  Each probation trust has a case manager who works for the charity.  When the ex-offender becomes close to being ‘job ready’. i.e. they are in a good place to return to work (housing set up, some employment groundwork in place i.e. CV etc) you will come in and act as a fast track job coach.  You will help them understand the types of roles that might be a good fit in line with their expectations.  Support them to apply for jobs.  Coach them on how to write a cover letter, complete app forms and prepare them for interviews.  You will also reach out to businesses in the local area.  But unlike recruitment, where there are fees involved. You will be contacting businesses to provide a cost free recruitment service (as the charity are government funded), whilst giving ex-offenders a 2nd chance.  But there are no KPI’s around this, and you will manage your own day.
