Here at Horizon Search & Selection Ltd we are very excited to currently be seeking a Recruitment Consultant to join our existing team of 3 and play a key part in the ongoing success of our independent, generalist and rather different recruitment agency. Now five years old, we are located in the village of Botesdale, close to Diss on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. We set up in 2011 with the aim of providing a refreshingly different recruitment service which would have values based on honesty, personality, integrity, and professionalism. Five years on, we now work with a broad range of clients, locally and nationwide, offering both permanent and temporary recruitment services. It seems our approach has been well-received with both our clients and candidates, and now it is time for our small team to expand due to our heavy workload and desire to grow. This is a brilliant opportunity for a Recruitment Consultant who is looking to continue their career in recruitment, but in a different environment to the norm of our industry. Currently based in a small grade II listed building, we enjoy a relaxed but studious working atmosphere and are hard-working people who still like to have the odd fun moment in the day! The role of a Consultant within our business is varied and requires somebody with prior experience who will easily understand the principles of recruiting into a broad range of permanent and temporary positions across many industries. The primary focus of the position is to bring sufficient profit into the business, although there are many secondary duties which include: • Smoothly managing the recruitment process from start to finish; offering an excellent standard of tailored service throughout to both candidate and client. Using commercial awareness, initiative and company values to best achieve a positive outcome • Effectively servicing a ledger of existing customers (a small ledger will be given to the successful appointee), as well as dealing with new clients. Offering information on services and assistance with recruitment. Taking every opportunity to strengthen the working relationship • Sourcing and pre-screening candidates, predominantly via reviewing applications and resourcing for your own positions. Taking the time to fully review CVs and covering letters as well as speaking to each candidate to develop a thorough understanding of their requirements, situation, character and suitability for the vacancy at hand • Editing CVs, writing thorough and tailored candidate profiles to submit for vacancies • Using commercial acumen and excellent business development skills in line with company values in order to obtain new clients; adding leads to the company database, making initial and follow-up contact (via phone/email/marketing). We do not encourage ‘hard selling’ though, preferring a more tactful, less-invasive approach • Writing enticing and accurate job advertisements; posting these across several major job boards as well as on our own social media pages and company database • Handling the offer process; using diplomacy, decision-making and tenacity during negotiations then process necessary paperwork with speed and accuracy in line with current recruitment legislation • Always strive to be a proud ambassador for Horizon and play a key part in effective team-work and communication. Attend weekly KPI meetings to discuss and review each other's performance, as well as regular KPI reviews and appraisals • Contribute ideas to marketing/branding/merchandising projects We are seeking the following in our new team member: • Considerable prior experience within a recruitment related position (ideally as a Consultant within a generalist agency) • A genuine passion for working with people and selling with plenty of enthusiasm and respect for a gentle approach to nurturing relationships. Ideally you will already value similar core ethics as Horizon in the way you recruit; honesty, integrity, personality and professionalism • Confidence in a range of computer applications, with good IT skills; ideally experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel • The ability to work well under pressure and to tight time constraints. This isn't always the norm at Horizon but as we are increasingly busy we require somebody who can remain clear, unflappable and professional at all times • Strong writing ability for use in adverts, marketing campaigns, candidate profiles etc. A high standard of spelling and grammar • A professional and friendly telephone manner. Confidence in dealing with people from all backgrounds and levels. The ability to have empathy in some situations, but also dogmatic in others • An organised approach. The ability to quickly prioritise your workload and plan ahead, often working on your own initiative (although support and guidance is always to hand) • An analytical nature; An interest in your own statistics and self-development with a willingness to discuss and analyse these openly within team meetings and one-to-one reviews/appraisals • Experience of recruiting into both temporary and permanent positions ideally, although training can be given on one of the areas if required • Own driving licence and transport is highly advantageous due to our rural location In return, we can offer a genuine career opportunity for the right candidate.
