Job Description

JOB TITLE: Recruitment Co-ordinator DIVISION: Crewing Services LOCATION: Aberdeen HOURS: 37.5 (+ on call Rota) MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: Recruit all disciplines of Marine personnel for our vessels. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Report directly to the Crewing Manager. • KEY WORK AREAS: • Recruitment of STCW qualified marine personnel for all seagoing vacancies. • Co-ordinating with Management to ascertain any personnel requirements, review the system on a daily basis to identify recruitment needs. • Screening CV’s received through our website, various portals and agencies and recruiting candidates into suitable positions. • Contacting suitable candidates and conducting telephone interviews for all ranks other than Masters and Chief Engineers. Arrange interviews with management for Master’sand Chief Engineers including travel and accommodation for candidate. • Checking all candidates’ qualifications and certificates against the training matrix and MCA online certificate checker to ensure all certification is genuine and up to date. Obtain references/appraisals in line with Company policy. Assist non UK personnel with applying for a CeC and obtain CRA’s from the MCA. • To maintain personnel files and ensure all paperwork needed for recruitment is acquired and scanned into their electronic file. Keeping notes on file of any requests, holidays booked or training required. • Keeping payroll up to date with any new starts or any changes. • Liaising with team members to check when our cadets may be ready for employment and check their performance to ascertain if suitable for employment. • General office duties i.e. filing, scanning, faxing, answering phones, checking invoices, ordering PPE and any other duties required. • Covering for other team members when on holiday. Acting as team member and helping out where required. Any other projects or tasks as delegated by the Crewing Manager. • Taking a turn on-call which includes week-end work. • Any other projects or tasks as delegated by the Crewing Manager or Crewing Team. COMMUNICATIONS: Daily communication with the crewing team, staff across all departments, crew members, applicants. QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING: • Previous Marine recruitment experience- desirable. • Full knowledge of STCW qualifications- desirable. • General administrative experience • Computer literate – Microsoft packages i.e. word, excel, outlook PERSONAL QUALITIES/CHARACTERISTICS: • Team player • People person • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure • Mature, professional approach to work • Ability to work to tight deadlines • Excellent verbal communication skills • Flexibility in working arrangements • Pleasant and outgoing personality
