Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Recruitment Engineer to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based in Corsham initially for 4 months offering up to £400 per day LTD. Main Duties: 1. The Crypto Enabling Services programme is a funded £500M programme to address cryptographic End Equipment Unit (ECU) obsolescence and provision of modern mode interoperability, to implement electronic crypto key distribution and management capability and to deliver to defence an integrated crypto asset management capability. The electronic key distribution and Management capability is to be provided through the Sustain Key & Key Distribution (SKKD) project, which is a logical modernisation of key management to electronic distribution, but is also driven by the sovereign decision to cease the use of paper-tape. A significant challenge for the SKKD project is to accurately capture the requirement for electronic crypto keys across Defence. There are currently over 15 million transactions per year across multiple user groups, systems and key types; these legacy requirements all need to be reviewed and confirmed as enduring, and new demands across defence projects, systems and services need to be captured, sentenced and confirmed. A comprehensive engagement campaign will be needed using Project Crypto Plans (PCP) to document negotiated crypto key requirements across all users and projects in Defence; there are currently some 350 legacy PCPs to be sentenced, and either removed or re-written, and an expected 60 new PCPs to be generated. The effort required to complete the task is estimated at 3 man-years. The work, however, needs to be completed by 30 Sep to inform the CES Main Gate submission; parallel activity is feasible hence the work could be completed in 6 months For any queries please contact Rebecca Eaton on either (Apply online only) or
