Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join a Local Authority in the Rotherham area of South Yorkshire's Fostering Recruitment Team on an initial 3 month temporary assignment. This unique opportunity is currently offering an hourly rate of between £35 and £36 ltd. Duties & Responsibilities: * Responding to new enquiries from potential foster carers and conducting initial assessments * Undertaking complex fostering assessments within agreed timescales (usually 4 months from allocation to panel) * Ensuring that applicants have undertaken a health assessment and that all DBS checks are completed * Interviewing the referees of the applicant and passing the reports through to the Fostering Panel * Undertaking a handover visit with the Fostering Social Worker allocated to take over the ongoing support of the applicants * Speaking to each individual member of the household about the fostering task and their views The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years post qualifying experience of working within Children’s Services, ideally within a Fostering Department. Having knowledge of the Fostering Services Regulations 2011, Fostering Services National Minimum Standards 2011 and Special Guardianship Regulations 2016 is ideal.
