SmithCorp are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking individuals to develop into successful recruitment consultants in our offices. No previous experience is required. We take people from a wide variety of backgrounds and sectors, provide extensive training and offer great starting salaries, uncapped commission and unrivalled progression.
SmithCorp is the parent company for a group of 6 successful recruitment businesses, all specialising within the Education sector. Established in 2004, we have won numerous awards and gone on to become a leader in the sector; providing nationwide coverage from our four offices in Cornwall (Truro), Bristol (Clifton and Portishead) and London (Paddington). Our business is organically grown. We hire only at “trainee” level, so each and every recruitment consultant, team leader, manager and Director, has climbed through the ranks - we don’t parachute people in from the top. We have a dedicated in-house training academy and ensure everyone is fully supported and developed throughout their career with us.
What is the working environment like?
Our offices are all modern, open plan and equipped with TV’s. Our consultant wear wireless headsets and we encourage hot desking. This keeps it fresh each day and allows for sharing of knowledge and expertise to aid your development. We foster a vibrant, sociable culture with regular nights out.
What will you get in return for your hard work?
You will receive a basic salary with a generous, uncapped commission structure. There are also a number of ongoing sales incentives that run throughout the year so individuals who consistently meet and exceed targets will have the opportunity to join our annual all-expenses paid VIP trips: Skiing, Summer Sun in Las Vegas as well as a seat at our monthly Lunch Clubs (where you will be wined and dined at a top restaurant). For the big billers, there is a Rolex target and on top of that, there are socials (lots of socials).

What does a career with us realistically look like?
It’s very much a meritocracy here, so the rate at which you progress will come down to you and the work you put in, however the following is a very realistic road map:
You will be mentored by one of our top performers from day one and will participate in three different training courses during your first year. There is no probation period and you have the ability to earn commission from day 1. Your starting basic salary will be £20k, you should expect to earn two promotions and along with uncapped commission top up your earnings to somewhere between £25k-£35k for the year.
Solid performers will be promoted to senior consultant level well within two years. This promotion will carry with it an increase in basic salary to £25k but by now, commissions will make up a significant part of your income. Realistically you should expect to earn somewhere between £35k and £50k overall depending on performance.
If you have proven yourself as a billing consultant and have shown a strong interest in managing people, you will likely have begun taking your first steps in this direction - leading and growing a small team (of between 1 and 3 consultants). If you prefer just to focus on your own billing for now, that is absolutely fine too. Either way you could now expect to be earning between £45k-£60k (although some top performers have earned more).
4th & 5th Years
You should now be earning anywhere between £50-80k+ and be progressing nicely towards six figure earnings within the next few years. If you have chosen a management path, you could now be leading a more established team of between 4 – 8 consultants and will likely have been enrolled into our two year Leadership Development Programme. You will be progressing towards Associate Directorship within the next few years

In truth our consultants come from a wide variety of different backgrounds: sales, hospitality, retail, teaching, sports & leisure, military and fresh graduates to name a few. We are not looking for any specific experience or qualifications however we are looking for evidence that you are:

* Outgoing with strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Goal driven with a highly competitive spirit
* Resilient to deal with knock-backs
* Have a sense of urgency and the stamina to excel in a fast moving, sales-driven environment
