In 2004, SmithCorp was started as a single recruitment consultancy by the three Smith brothers. Heading into 2017 with 6 specialist recruitment companies over 4 office locations and a headcount of over 140+ sales staff, it’s safe to say we have experienced considerable growth. With exciting plans to grow further in the New Year, we are currently interested in highly-driven individuals who are as ambitious as we are to begin a career with us in recruitment as trainees. As an organic company, each and every member of staff here - including all Managers, Directors and even our Chief Operations Officer - started their career here at the bottom, as trainees with absolutely no recruitment experience, and are all continuing to work their way through the ranks. Training As a trainee, you will be assigned a mentor – usually one of the companies top billers – who will provide 1-2-1, on-the-job training with you throughout your first 4 months. With their guidance and support, you become an expert in your market enabling you to win business by offering prospective clients an insightful, high-quality service. In addition to the mentor programme, continual training and development will be offered throughout your career to enable you to perform, progress and develop within the business in the path you choose whether this be management, training or billing. Progression If you are keen to move up, progression here can be fast – we operate with a clear, target-based promotion structure ensuring that individuals who consistently demonstrate good performance and who have drive are fast-tracked to management. Realistically, most individuals hit their first two promotions within 6 months, progressing to senior consultant after around 18 months and moving up to team leader level within 2 years however exceptional consultants have achieved management status in only 14 months. Earning Potential Commission is uncapped and available to earn from Day One – there is no probation period. We offer a competitive basic salary which will rise by a minimum of £3k in your first year and on a continually basis as you move up through the company. In your first year, you can expect to earn between £25-30K however hardworking consultants will often earn above this – the record has been set at £40K+ for a consultant in their first year, I’m sure there is room to beat this! Second year in, most individuals will earn between £35-40K. Again, top performers have smashed through this and earned much more. By your third year, you should be set to earn between £50-60K and after four years should be earning £80-90K+. Exceptional consultants in the business earn well into 6 figures. Additonal Incentives & Benefits Consultants who hit their monthly target can expect to receive an invitation for “Lunch Club” – on the first Friday of the following month, you will leave the office at lunch and join your colleagues for an all-expenses lunch at a top restaurant. 3 x annual, 5* company holidays are on offer to consultants who consistently perform well – a ski trip in early Spring, a beach resort holiday in the Summer and a grand finale trip to Vegas(!) are great rewards to celebrate hard work and enjoy spending time with colleagues outside of the office. Most of our consultants come from a background of hospitality, retail, sales, competitive sports, the Forces and very often, fresh from university or travelling however we are keen to speak to anyone who is keen to work hard, progress and be rewarded for this.
