It's a mixture of hard work, long hours and dealing with the most unpredictable resource - people! However, for all of your hard work, dedication, the long tiresome hours, hundreds of calls, emails, tweets, LinkedIn posts and Whatsapp messages, a career in recruitment can be very rewarding, both financially and through helping clients and candidates achieve their targets. Construction and rail has been booming for many years now and with the Government setting itself a target of 1m new build homes by 2020 and a number of new rail links, which are fantastic industries to recruit for. In addition to residential construction, there is an abundance of major commercial building projects in place or on the horizon. With skilled trades and general labour in short supply, this is where you come in. Your role will be to engage with Construction and rail companies, present the benefits of using a recruitment agency, negotiate terms and win the contract to supply construction trades and labour personnel. The next stage is to resource the personnel. Working with the latest CRM system to identify available workers, negotiate rates of pay and ensure suitability to the role, you will work tirelessly to ensure the contract you have just won is fulfilled to the clients expectations. This is a high volume recruitment sector and requires a high level of determination, organisational skills, personal drive and resilience. Commission is paid on gross profit achieved in the month - the more GP you make, the more commission you earn. As you progress within the business, your earning potential increases. In addition to a fantastic commission structure, you will be given targets to achieve a pay rise, plus other monthly and quarterly incentives, team nights out and other corporate social events. The company ethos is very simple - work as hard as you can, give a great service to clients and candidates, ensure you work in a professional manner at all times and reap the rewards. The client has a fresh approach to recruitment, who prides itself on the fantastic working relationships that they have developed with some of the biggest household names within the construction and rail industry. You will be offered training and support and a full development programme into becoming a full consultant and an incentive scheme which allows the transition into becoming an successful recruitment consultant as smooth as possible.
