Trainee Recruitment Consultant – OTE YR 1 £25-30k, YR 2 £35-40k, YR 3 £50-60k, YR 4 £80k+++ Looking to get onto the property ladder? Fantastic… What’s your plan? In 2016, it’s estimated that you need to be earning in excess of £52,000 per year to secure a mortgage for a first time buyer rising to £64,000 by 2020. The average salary in the UK is a measly £26,500. So again, what’s your plan? Recruitment is a lucrative career which allows you to directly control how much you earn. In your first year as a trainee here, you should be set to earn between £25-30k including a base salary rise of at least £3k. Many consultants have earned in excess of £45k in their first year. With the average graduate earning between £19-22k in their first year out of university, you’ll already be way ahead of your peers. In your second year as a consultant, you will be set to earn £35-40k. Again, with hard work, there is no reason why this figure cannot be higher. You should have also hit your third if not fourth promotion by this point becoming a senior consultant or stepping up into a managerial role. Your third year here will see you earning £50-60k and, if you are not already, running your own team of 3-5 consultants. In your fourth year, you will be on track to earn in excess of £80k+. The average salary for someone with 5-9 years experience in their chosen field is £30k.
